Pet Partner Program
Working together to save lives.

How the Program Works:

Pet Partner Program is a joint partnership between Another Chance Animal Welfare League (ACAWL) and someone who has rescued a homeless or abandoned animal.  You become the foster parent and ACAWL becomes the official adoption agency.  You will bring your rescued pet to our weekly Saturday adoptions and sit with them to tell potential adopters all about them.  If a person is interested in adopting your rescued pet, the next step is to have them see one of our adoption counselors and complete the necessary adoption paperwork.  Next a home visit is scheduled to ensure that the home is a loving, safe and permanent environment suitable for that particular pet.  If the home check passes, the pet is scheduled for neutering/spaying or any medical care that needs to be done.
ACAWL collects an adoption fee from  adopters to cover the medical costs. It is not only part of our mission to be sure each pet we rescue is spayed or neutered, it is also a California law that all animals we adopt out must be spayed or neutered.   This cost is paid by the adopter.  There is no fee to the rescuer for this service.  Owners that can no longer care for a pet may leave a contribution, but it is not mandatory. How they get adopted:Aside from coming to the weekly adoptions, which you are asked to attend at least two per month, we also take digital photos and place them on our weekly pet list that is emailed out to hundreds of recipients.  That same photograph along with the story is sent to Petfinder.com where even more people can read about that pet while online.

Are there any restrictions? Yes.

There is a 30-day contract between you and ACAWL,  in which you are agreeing that we will place all animals listed on the contract.  This means if you list the animal on the contract, you must agree to let us help place that animal for at least 30 days.  This also means that if we are unable to place the pet, you will give us ample opportunity to try to find a foster home for this pet if space permits.  At no time will you ever be permitted to sit in front of our adoption center or at one of our outreach functions and “Give away” your pet.  All pets will be adopted in the same way, all will be neutered, and all adoptions will be screened by us.  Should you decide to give your pets away in another manner during the contract time period, the contract will be null and void and we will no longer help you place the pets.  It is our policy  that all animals be spayed and neutered that we help find a new home.

How do I sign up?

Call the us at the Adoption Center today!

We will be happy to schedule a time to temperament test your animal, a requirement for all dogs coming into the program,  and go over the paperwork and rules with you.
