  • Or take an insurance policy out listing ACAWL as beneficiary.  This is an inexpensive way to continue to help animals after you are gone.
  • If you would like to foster a pet but can’t take one into your own home, you can still help by joining the Guardian Angel PROGRAM and sponsor a foster pet for only $25/mo. You will receive a pictures of the featured pet(s) that you are helping each month.
How will the animals find homes that are in foster care?

We have our foster animals at our Adoption Center and Thrift Store on Saturdays for viewing and visiting.  They are also seen within the community at Adoption Events. Additionally, the animals are posted on Petfinder.com.  We host a pet of the week on our website each week.

Where does Another Chance get its animals?

We take our animals from a number of sources; from shelters when they have run out of time and options, from owners who can no longer care for them, and occasionally a stray animal if the proper methods are followed to try to find an owner.

The animals that we take in must meet certain qualifications such as; no bite history, good with other pets, good with children, and non-aggressive. Owner relinquished animals must be heartworm tested for dogs and feline leukemia tested for cats. Owners are asked to have their pets neutered prior to surrendering them to us, if possible.

What are the goals of Another Chance Animal Welfare League?

Our organizational goals are to create a safe place for animals to live until they are adopted by utilizing our foster care program at this time.   When are working toward raising the funds to  purchase property for our NO KILL SANCTUARY.   As the Shasta County population continues to grow with humans… so does the animal population—there is a need for us to help the animals in our community as long as the shelters continue to euthanize healthy adoptable and unwanted animals.
Because we will not be euthanizing healthy adoptable animals, we will be limited on how many we can take at one time,  so our foster care program will always be a vital part of our work.
